Summary of Engagement
The Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC) was conceived out of the Middle East Multilateral Peace Process and is designed to fill a crucial role in achieving a lasting piece in the region
through improved development and more rational management of the regional water resources. The Public Strategies Group worked
with the Executive Council of MEDRC to develop a strategic focus
for long term financial sustainability. Financial sustainability
was identified as one of the most critical issues for the Center.

All Executive Council members expressed their views

Staff of the Center felt confident in moving ahead to refine
the strategic direction by creating specific and concrete strategies
Type of service
A process was designed, implemented and facilitated for MEDRC
to create the strategic focus for long term financial sustainability.
A working session of the Executive Council was used to develop
this focus. In preparation for the workshop, Council members,
technical representatives, and other stakeholders were surveyed
by email and fax. Issues and ideas were refined before and during
the working session by PSG, staff, and Council members.
