At the Disney Institute, PSG facilitated negotiations between the Office of Student Financial Assistance (SFA) and it's private sector operating partners. The negotiations resulted in a new and improved performance-contracting model. This model is built on trust and holds operating partners accountable to the same objectives as SFA - increased customer satisfaction, increased employee satisfaction and reduced unit costs.
When negotiating these contracts, PSG worked to eliminate the "Mickey Mouse" - unnecessary oversight, paperwork and multiple levels of checkers - in the contracts. While eliminating these barriers the new model for performance contracting maintains audits, GAO reviews and meets all government standards for contracting. However, the elimination of unnecessary oversight has significantly reduced costs to SFA while increasing the margins of operating partners.
The contracts negotiated at the Disney Institute truly represent a win -win for all parties involved - the government saves money, the private sector increase it's profit margin and students receiving financial aid are all but guaranteed a higher level of service.
